Fujifilm
Bedford, United Kingdom
Fujifilm is a brand that is synonymous with photography, film and cameras; from this heritage, the multinational company has adapted and diversified to now be active across various industries, from materials to healthcare, data storage to printing.
Fujifilm UK has been based in Bedford, near Milton Keynes, for almost 40 years. In October 2022, the company moved into a new, three-storey headquarters in the town, named Fujifilm House. The new office is home to more than three hundred staff and has been designed to achieve the highest level of sustainability. Fujifilm House has a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating, with eighty solar panels on the roof, electric vehicle charge points and a rainwater recycling system.
To further enhance the building’s sustainability, supremely energy-efficient Thorlux LED luminaires are installed throughout. Laboratory areas are fitted with Zipline linear luminaires with black-coated aluminium trunking, providing broad and even lighting distribution. Offices, kitchen spaces and the building’s gymnasium all feature recessed Hi-Style luminaires with either opal or low-glare optics, as required. A lengthy run of Flexline surface-mounted luminaires provides a dramatic feature in the open-plan office area. Square Solis adjustable recessed downlighters feature in the reception area and corridors throughout the building. Finally, low-glare, wall-mounted Ovix circular surface luminaires provide illumination in the stairwells.
